Call it paranoia but I think of this every time I'm waiting to cross the street. I watch the cars speeding by and think that any number of random things could happen and send one careening over at me so I always feel a little more comfortable if there's a pole of some sort to stand behind if need be.
Or I could just do like that one time and jump over the hood of the motherfucker. True story.
