My father and I were invited to a test drive event that took place this afternoon at Atlanta Motor Speedway. We got to rag out ALL the new Benz's... including the newly re-styled SLK350! That li'l thing picks up and goes! We also got to run the E320 CDI (deisel power, yo), the SL500, the E500, and the S500.

The E500 had electronically adjustable suspension, which was rad. I got yelled at for drifting the SLK350. He said I shouldn't accellerate into the turns because I'll throw the car out of control and squeal the tires. Hahaha... my shirt said "drift" so I was like eat it. I went out in the SL500 and did the same shxxxt! That car's brakes had faded beyond beleif... I almost lost it into a 90 degree right hander... but I managed to avoid running off the course.

We had a blast for sure. Father-Son bonding at it's best.
Hott girls, wet tarmac (oh yeah... they' slicked it up in spots), and someone else's German cars the beat on...

My father owns (or... 0wn3d) a Benz... so we got invited as a result. It was a brand loyalty kind of event. No salespeople. I've been to a Jaguar event similar to this, but there was a salesman riding shotgun telling you the features of the car... and to ease off the throttle a bit, lol.
When's Ferrari gonna rock one of these events?

That SLK350 had a lot of punch to it! I think the E320 CDI would be cool... the track didn't allow for the turbo to really kick in.

The S500 handles great considering what a huge car it is.
