Ok i just want to know who here likes old school cars or newer cars 1990 and above. For me i like old import cars and any of the GLH dodge products. For me new cars are just two damn heavy, i mean is ther any reason for a new mini or a vw golf should be 3000lb plus cars?

its all about old school cars.

me having a 90 240sx, i prefer this over a S14. Now if a 240z came along, now thats another story. Nothing can compare to a 240z.

Oh wait a min, how about a old school skyline? good lord... So yes, old school cars are hundred times better than new cars.


New car body style plain sucks! well really anything 2000-ish and up. Just look how butcher the supposed New Skyline. The Skyline is a model this is nothing but race, not a VIP style car. Sigh

you probably know the real answer, but just in case, it's: SAFETY.

I'm not sure but I'd be willing to bet that VW's largest demographic is more concerned with crash test results and very nicely decorated (albeit heavy) interiors than they are of curb weight.



Minis are only about 2300lbs.

As far as looks go, my "new age" (read new school) Impreza OWNS!
Performance isn't so bad either...

Sorry Charlie, but the cooper s weighs about 2700 lbs. Only BMW could mannage to get a vehicle weigh that much for it's size. Safety is the biggest part of new cars though. My RX has eight airbags. That crap adds up. I personally think that my MR2 is far more "fun" to drive, but I like any well built car. I don't care if it's a 240z or an RX-8, a good car is a good car.

Yeah I knew the main reason is "safety" witch is a good thing but there is other crap in new cars I don’t like, like electric adjustable heated leather seats in the vr6 golfs, why cant you just buy the car with the hot motor in it with no options, I think the only one you can do that with is the lancer. I mean I like some new cars the rx-8, and the scoobies AI the old impreza 2.5 RS is in my opinion one of the toughest looking cars I have seen in a while. Actually if I was to buy anything "new" it would be a 2.5RS. O and don’t get me started on the big brother electrical assist crap, and nothing sends shivers of hatred up my spine like fly by wire things, LOL hell I don’t even like power steering.

I like both about the same.

While I drive a newSkool e46, I'm a sucker for oldSkool cars just the same. I'm a designer, so I'm always interested in the way things were made. I've always been intrigued by aged automobile design. When cars come off the showroom floor, they're top-of-the-line... it's always interesting to see how cars progress towards classic styling as times change.

Come to think of it... I don't think there's any car I don't like.
Well... on second thought... I've always hated the Pontiac Aztek (Asstek, LOL).

Holy poop! I have hated every second of the Azteks existence, even with the attachable tent.

This is on the wouldn't drive it if it was free list.

...so much for consumerguide.com being a reliable source of info. They have it listed as 2315lbs. Maybe that was the base model. Could the S weigh 500 more lbs or is that just grossly incorrect data?

No, I'm not in the industrial design loop. I get stuck with the graphics end.
I have a coupla friends back from my college days that (the last time I heard) were doing CAD design... but I haven't seen them in years.

cool thanks Andy. O and yeah the mini coopers is a pig i dono how or why the damnt thing ways so much, but if i wanted a cooper s for my dollor i would go to that place in ATL that crams a b16 in an old 60s model one.
