Not sure yet. Thinking STI master, since it's just a front and rear out, so I can do the proportioning on my own with an inline valve.

I'm still up in the air about what material to use for the seat, but "living tissue" is on the top of the list. The wiggly grooves cut into the foam are for some thin irrigation hosing which will carry cold water pumped from a cooler just like a cool suit. Ought to make not having A/C a bit more livable.

Good to know, I'm going to have to start using seamless on stuff. I hadn't actually looked through all the rule-books I'd downloaded. FD's specs are pretty basic in comparison.mranlet wrote:No way man. I think it was $3.80/ft at our minor shop discount from Alro Metals. NASA specifies a requirement for Seamless in their rules, as do serious classes of SCCA or any other real sanctioning body. Formula D requirements serve their purpose but are pretty much a joke when compared to bodies that are very serious about safety, and I'm building this to survive an apocalypse and will be riding walls all day long every day.
Just because I'm curious, what kind of foam did you use on the seat?

The foam is packaging material from a Stillen supercharger kit for 370z. It's a polyethylene firm foam, very rigid. Foam really doesn't do shit in an impact unless it's pretty dense like the SFI rollcage padding is. With foam this rigid I can easily contour it to fit me perfectly with a brown Roloc wheel in an angled die grinder.
The only progress I made today was pulling out some little things I have for the car - tie rod boot, some bushings, an outer tie rod, and my windshield vinyl.

Re: I AM A WAR MACHINE - UCF10
I decided I needed some bottom mount pedals. There are some cheap possibilities out there, but I'm fucking broke. All I could find is a box of rods from a smoked 1UZ.
