Hey guys! I know I'm new to the DM fam but I wanted to start a thread that was showing some love to our friends and family that are overseas. My good friend is going back for his second tour and I just wanted to say he is a BADASS! I just wanted to sa ythanks to the boys doing the shit that saves our ass!

MANAMA, Bahrain (CNN) -- U.S. Navy snipers fatally shot three pirates holding an American cargo-ship captain hostage after seeing that one of the pirates "had an AK-47 leveled at the captain's back," a military official said Sunday.

The captain, who'd been held in a lifeboat in the Indian Ocean since Wednesday, was rescued uninjured, Navy Vice Adm. Bill Gortney told reporters.

Capt. Richard Phillips' ship, the Maersk abalambala, was stormed by pirates 300 miles off Somalia on Wednesday morning. He was "resting comfortably" on the USS Boxer after his rescue Sunday night, according to the Navy.

Navy but still. Fuckin pirates.

That was an interesting read.

...and many of the ugliest forces in the Western world have seen this as a great opportunity to steal the countryâ€™s food supply and dump our nuclear waste in their seas.

Yes: nuclear waste. As soon as the government was gone, mysterious European ships started appearing off the coast of Somalia, dumping vast barrels into the ocean.

This is funny... because the seas aren't connected or anything. God dammit the human race is getting dumber by the minute if we thing we can dump nuclear waste in "someone else's" ocean, and it won't affect the rest of the world.
