i'm thinking about buying a Porsche 944 turbo, but I would like to do some research on them. I've looked around and am having trouble finding a descent message board for the 944 or Porsches in general. So if you guys come across one please let me know.

thanks guys
chris

crappy cars overall... don't waste your cash unless it's super super cheap.

mmmm...interesting. I've heard otherwise:
the motor was built by Audi rather than Porsche so they tend to be more reliable than your typical Porsche. Have you ever noticed just how many 944 are running around; quit a bit.
why do you say they are crappy? i'm just curious.

here's one that I have my eye on:

I am not trying to be a dick or anything but the 944 is junk, however they are a bit cheaper to maintain and all but the do break a lot. The reason you see a lot of them is becaus they were cheaper than a 911 or some other Porsche of the day, kinda like why you see way more boxers that other Porsches how much is a boxer now 40,000? compared to the 100,000 a 911 is. So that is why you see a lot of 944. Also they are kinda week for a Porsche i do not know the specs but i know they lack power. If you want something FR drive Porsche try to find a 956? i think lol but they may be around 30grand or so. But hell i cant say anything about being a pos i drive a starion.

where are you getting the money? why all of the sudden are you in the market for a new car? isn't there something else you should be saving your money for? :?:

Forget the Porch and buy an SR to drop in your 240 and call it a day! With 6500 bucks you'll be having Cody chase you with all the mods you can do with that. Haha, then he'll go out and spend more. Then you, then him and it will be a battle of the Zenki 14's.

haha Mike!

The money would come from my 240; i would sell it. b/c the 240 only has 60K miles on I figure I can get around $6K for it. And since most 944s are around the same price I wouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket.

There's four autos that I've always wanted: MR2, 240, Porsche, and a Jeep (CJ-7/wrangler). And now that I've realized that I can afford the 944, Im really wanting to get one.
who knows.... maybe I'm on one of my "i want" kicks; like Cody. :P

Well you have one of the four, so stick with it! Plus your already getting used to it and doing things to it. You should be attached already.

To each his own, so go for it if you want. Those later bodies look pretty nice.

I don't know jack about 944's, but maybe what they were posting earlier was true. So think about it before you sell the 14.
