You know, this weekend is the last SE Subaru Challenge. It's at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds on Saturday (registration is Friday at the hotel down the road and Saturday morning on-site).
It would be awesome to see someone from driftmechaniks show up!

Anyways, if you're not going.. anyone planning on going to NP this Thursday? I haven't had a chance to meet most of the DM's.

Thanks Charlie.
Anyways, the event shouldn't interfere with too much partygoing. It's Saturday from ~ 7am-4pm. Registration is open to walk-ups Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
If you have a Subaru or know someone who'd let you codrive theirs, it would be awesome to see you there.
Believe it or not, us nasioc people are not ALL that bad. We're just kinda bitchy.
Anyways, my number is (770)630-5077. Feel free to give me a call if you think you might make it but don't know where to go.

the deck is here in d-wood, and it's on a little road that cuts between peachtree dunwoody and mt. vernon (it's across from the chic-fil-a/happy sumo/sports authority shopping center).

I would love to make it out to spectate. I'll have to see what my work schedule's looking like. I'm slammed to tha teef with freelance work right now.
Most of us won't make it out to NP tonight... there is a big Drift411/DriftMechaniks meet this evening at Startime. If you're in the neighborhood, you should stop by! We'll be battling it out InitialD style like always, lol.

Hey guys! Thanks for the invite to Startime. Unfortunately, I was all wacked out from my daily cardio-fest (I'm getting about 6-7 miles in a day..ugh..), so I just picked myself up off the couch a few minutes ago.
Anyways........
GC8VI... You will PROBABLY be in STS class (if suspension and exhaust is all you've done). I would recommend bringing a list of modifications with you. Someone at registration will be able to give you the right class (there are only soo many classes Subarus fall into).
The entry fee is $25. If you show up to the Hilton Garden Inn @ 2040 Sugarloaf Pkwy between 6 and 9pm, you will also get a complimentary pack from Subaru (at the MD Challenge we got Subaru bookbags with WRC mags, stickers, a hat and a water bottle).
It's ok if you don't have a helmet. ATL Region provides loaner helmets for people.
Hope this helps! And thanks Cody!

Tyler and Barry you should really jump on this!
Miranda, the reason it interferes with my partygoing is because it's my party and I still have a lot of preparation that I had mostly scheduled for Saturday. There's projectors to set up, coolers to fill, pumpkins to carve... the list goes on. I might possibly still try to make it out if I can get everything done tomorrow night. I'd love to see how you handle that bugeye!
I'm curious as to how I would fare against the GC. Tyler has awesome suspension but lack of power. I have good power but lack of suspension. My guess is that the suspension would be the bigger advantage. It just won't be quite as fun on the way home.

Damnit. All this talk has got me REALLY wanting to go! Hopefully I can.

i'm thinking about riding along with somebody out there to check it out, it seems like fun. i'd really love to enter mine on the sunday autox event too but i'm still a little hesitant due to my turbo/throttle cable situation. i need to get some spirited driving in somehow though, it's been way too long

i wouldnt mind some free stuff if i can make it in time. but either way count me in. this will be my FOERST ever event so i am pretty stoked, but getting nervous about it. i've never done anything like this with any car. let alone a car i bought about 2/3 months ago, and i am still getting use to its personality and driving style. so hopefully this event will help me learn alot more about my car and my driving skills (if i have any).

i only wish the obsessive amounts of GT3 time i have put in for both grip and drift driving styles could give me real world experience. but that is why for once i am going to put the controller down and get in a physically existing car and drive it. i only hope i can drive it even half as good as i can with a GC8 in any of the GranTurismo series (i will own all with a GC8 in GT4). well anyway i gotta stop thinking about it so i dont end up all nervous on saturday.
*edit* would anyone mind recording my FOERST event for me? i will be bringing 2 videocams of my own and possibly a tripod (not sure if it would be needed).
