yup, just got done with the installation of my new megan manifold, downpipe, and o2 housing. huge huge thanks to chad and barry as they did pretty much everything (as normal, i just screwed around under the car doing things incorrectly as my hands went numb from the cold and being upside down :) ).

the downside is i haven't cranked it up yet as my new exhaust doesn't come close to lining up with the ghetto crap that unstable hybrids custom made, so it looks as if i'm gonna have to pick up a new cat-back quick (or i could get mine adjusted at a muffler shop but i've been wanting something that's constructed better and that will fit nicer for a while so i might as well go ahead and do it). as much as i don't typically like them, i'll probably just call nopi tomororw and try to pick up a new stainless apex'i N1 and throw it on, and then after a couple of other things i should be able to fire it up.

on a few good notes, it looks like most of my "turbo noise" problems were coming from the way the A/R housing was mounted to the manifold (you could literally jiggle it which was obviously letting tons of air out), so i should be alright on that for a while. the turbo did have a little shaft play and i suspect i'll eventually need to replace/rebuild it, but i should at least be able to drive it comfortably for a while now. the only things left to do for it to be running at full potential now are fixing the vacuum leak which is causing my throttle to stick/get pulled to the floor and get some beads welded on to the intercooler pipes. i'm freaking excited too, it's been so long since i've gotten to drive this car with any force behind it and hopefully it's almost ready :).

oh yea, pics will be up tomorrow as well (i'd do it now but i have to run into work tomorrow morning for a few hours).

that would be awesome man! i'll try to get your contact info soon and maybe we could get it done.

on a crappy note however, i found out that i still need one new part before it'll be back on the road. apparently, unstable hybrids screwed up yet another thing and that is the flanges on the cat. it looks as if they cut them off and re-welded them so it would match up with their crappy exhaust that sat at a really bad angle, and now it won't fit in with my new stuff. i'm hoping to just get a test pipe picked up in a few days though and then maybe i'll be alright.

I think Unstable Hybrids should change their name to Shxxxt Hybrids.
I can't beleive what they've done to that car. It's crazy, and I can't even imaging how aggravating it must be as well.

Are they around anymore... or did the shop close down?
If the shop closed down, I can see why.

They're like "Hey, we need to weld this in here... aww, hell gimmie a band-aid... that'll hold".

luckily, they closed down a while back. i think they've done the worst work i've ever seen on anything.

yea, it should definately be ready by then (it's actually fine now, but it would just be absurdly loud so i'd rather not push my luck with the law). i'm gonna try to order a test pipe tomorrow and as soon as it gets in i should be able to throw it on and crank it up :).

good stuff, cody.

let us know how that megan manifold works out. since the ssAutochrome ones (the new version) are already starting to pop up with cracks, as per a few reviews on other forums, i'd be interested in this megan, as the exhausts and o2 housings ive seen before and they look really nice quality. we're looking for a stout manifold for my brother's car to help his s15 turbo get the most.

btw, in your FOERST post you mentioned a/r housing. its turbine housing (or compressor, if you were talking about that). a/r is simply a specification to an area divided by radius in regards to an inducer (comp wheel) or exducer (turbine wheel). just a heads up, from your neighborhood geek. :)

ps - check out projectnissan.com, they have GP sports exhausts now (basically 2 piece N1 designs) that go for $350 or so, and i think they have free shipping sometimes. its in texas, wouldnt take too long to get to your area. enjukuracing has good stuff too and ships uber fast. NOPI is closest to you i guess, but price shop, youll be happier in the end.

cool, i'll let you know how it turns out.
oh, and that's a nice deal on the GP sport however i ended up picking up a N1 on saturday anyhow. i do need to find a test pipe or high flow cat as soon as possible though if you know any local connections.
