Quite possibly the most elaborate AE86 build ever...

seems i've seen quite a few 86 builds like this, but this one may be a step above the rest. that's pretty nuts.

can't wait til domi gets the beams motor in his car. he wants to do s13 suspension too.. he might break worlds

or yah know.. never drive it cuz it's too nice.

I think the overhaul on tsuchiya's personal ae86 was better.

I am digging the repaint and such. Hella nice build, my dream build, with the IS300 Beams motor, such a bad ass engine, dual VVT. This guy did his car right, though I still like tsuchiya's better w/ stitch welding and full interior... I dunno if I could own a full race ae86... hehe

i'm with you on the full interior.

signal auto has the right idea, badass cars that do work while retaining full usefulness.

In terms of function, I really like Iida Akira's AE86. Full group A 20v in a clean Levin w/ full interior.

so i just went back and looked at this again. is he raising the towers so that it will get a lower body pants, i mean whats the point?

No. He says in the write up that the towers were just reinforced for stability.

he just boxed them in heavier steel to stiffen them up and give more surface to weld his cage/brace bars to.

basically solid axle cars either run leaf springs or something like a 4 link setup. the 4 links control the travel of the axle and the springs support the car. most hachi setups are unequal length due to the shape of the bottom of the car, so to have the more desireable equal length bars you have to creat a boxed area for the upper bars to mount/travel in.
