i have used a english wheel to make fenders for ARCA cars, but i have tried to use fiber glass and i found it much harder than sheet metal. lol it took me like 10 hours to make kick pannles for an old car of mine with fiberglass. I would sugest making your stock fenders wider, go to the junk yard and buy some fender for as cheep as you can i think there prety cheep at pulapart, then get you some body tools and just go at it, if any of this sounds like somthing you want to do i can give you like a list of tools and things you might need, hell if anything els with some creative welding and body work on a fender from a car like yours you may be able to get one slick enough to at least make a good mold for you to lay fiberglass on.

FOERST thing that popped in my head.

I think you should gets some fenders off another car, maybe a similar car or exactly, then trim and bend them until you get what your looking for. Mock them up and weld in or rivet if you like that look.
If you had access to a car like this would you take it back right away.

I don't know much about body work... but logistically getting an extra set of existing body panels from a junkyard seems like a good start. Maybe you could double up the body panels in a sense?
