OK, so just to clear some things up for those who don't know.

I DO NOT RUN NOPI DRIFT AND NOPI DRIFT DOES NOT RUN DRIFT FURY.
We are 2 separate orgaizations. Dan and I compete in NOPI Drift therefore we can not run it.

There have been crashes at all kinds of drift events. Just because they don't get blown out of proportion doesn't mean they don't happen. I know of some that were kept on the DL and I don't care to get into finger pointing because it doesn't really matter. Crashing IS ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN IN DRIFTING! Also, there are all kinds of reasoning behind crashes in drifting. There we 2 crashes at VIR, in fact. I have no shame in admitting that. The fact that it's a road course and we don't pave the road should lead some to believe that we don't have much say in setting up "the course" at a Road Course. We ran it the way the facility told us to and this is the way all of the local drivers told us how they run it.

Another thing I would like to mention, since it obvious that it's a he said/she said thing that goes on with all of this type of crap:

this isnt the FOERST time cars have got totally trashed I guess everyone forgot when NOPI had the drift demo and the fence got hit and knocked into the bleachers?

There were no bleachers when this happened. I was there and Dan drove in the demo although he was not one that crashed. This happened outside of the facility. This just goes to show how word gets spread around with flase facts. What happened was complete driver error. There was k-rail and fencing in place to protect the people. There was no k-rail on the track to "totally trash the cars". The parking lot was wide open besides the k-rail outlining the parking lot. There was plenty of run off and it still happened. DRIVER ERROR! IT HAPPENS.

The moral of the story is, you learn for your mistakes, you move on and try to make things better. Personaly I think a dead horse is being beaten here. So with that being said, I won't be back to post in this thread. Y'all have fun and see yous guys at the premiere Slide America FTW.

Ive been helping run events for 5 years now and theres only been one accident and it was because the driver was showboating and refused to follow the course line but luckly nobody was hurt just the car. and you can say D1 has accidents and so does formula D but the difference is that they are pro's and they are going much faster and running tandem and they usually dont have such a poor course layout. i dont have any personal problems with tracy or the other people that run the nopi events but in my opinion i think they have alot more to learn about running the events and course layout. and Im more than willing to show them how.

again it sucks that my FOERST post here in almost 3 years is because a good friend of mine totaled his car

I hate to say it, but i can't really see any validity in your posts. I've covered most of the NOPI Qualifiers and NOPI Miami, along with a number of other organizations drift practices/demos/events/competitions. I have seen saftey issues at all events. Not just drift events i've been at either.

As far as the D1/Formula D events pro drivers being faster, Sammy (from Tiger) has higher entry speeds than most of your "PRO's". Other "non-pros" were on par with Formula D drivers at both Arizona and Miami. I don't think there is any denying that.

Sorry to pick apart your FOERST post in 3 years, but I just can't agree with most of the things you said.

Yeah, is Chelsea not a "pro" because he is running in NOPI and not FD or D1? Huh Dan, huh?? I was in St Pete doing a demo while my teamates were in Miami doing NOPI. Chelsea qualified FOERST. And there were FD "pros" at that same event that he out qualified. I'd have to say............. he is a pro.

Ultimately, drifting is at your own risk. He (Dennis) effed up and ran over a cone(s) and it some how caused him to crash, hard. A wall is a wall. Wall vs car, wall wins. That is one of the many reasons why they make us sign waivers.

NOPI, don't use a million cones. Use the FIA plastic curb things D1 uses. Also, can't you find some bigger parking lots or something....... E-town (Old bridge raceway, NJ) has a few. You should do an event there. D1 is
