Definately glad that Dennis as well as the other drivers who crashed are ok.

I've read thru the NOPI thread and this one and I totally agree with everything said by the drivers. However, this will probably not be the most popular statement, but if you feel something is too unsafe to drive, don't drive. Another option is to just go out and do "parade laps" at 15mph. Spectators will get pissed and walk off.

I realize some people have sponsers to be there, but if they pull their money b/c you fear for your personal safety/life, then it's probably not the best people to be working with.

Here is why I say don't drive. If no one is out there putting on a show (or just doing parade laps around course) then its going to hit NOPI where it counts, their wallet. Coming from an autoxing background, cones are cheap. We destroy at least 2-5 an event. Do we charge people for them? No, we buy antoher pallet full for $300 and continue on our way. WTF are they worried about people hitting cones? Because they don't want to replace them. Penalize them qualifing points or something for hitting cones too many times, not with crush body work and crashed cars.

I got a good laugh at the oil slick and missing oil dry comments. Some dipshit told them they packed it and thats that. I'm betting its probably sitting at the Arizona site still.

btw, this is not an attack on the drivers who participated in the event even after the accidents, it is just my opinion on what you could do in the future to make changes happen.

Also forgot to add, if NOPI is like NASCAR, its going to take serious injury or death before they change their safety requirements. Well in NASCAR's case, multiple deathes. Only took three drivers lives to make then realize what most other professional and amatuer series had, HANS devices save lives in high speed collisions.

Point no. 4.3.a: I just saw a video of the course, and I all I have to say is that we have wider courses to autox on with less cones....

Thanks guys, the support has been tremendous.........there are sigs all over the car and the fender showing support. It will be all over tunervision at some point.

I wasnâ€™t scared of the k-rail, I didnâ€™t expect the FOERST k-rail to move so much so that I could tag the next one head on. Nor did I expect a cone to take me out. I donâ€™t think anyone had any idea such a thing could or would happen. Next time I would like interlocking k-rail, or hydro barriers, or even larger more substantial k-rail. You can change any one of 10 variables and what happened wouldnâ€™t have happened.

I have been in contact with Glenn from nopi and you have to realize, Glenn is the final say in track design, not the judges. If I see something I donâ€™t like, I will go to him before the judges. I didnâ€™t get far with the judges on Saturday about the unsafe course. Ultimately, the issues I foresaw happening didnâ€™t happen, something else did. I donâ€™t blame nopi. How can anyone predict what happened. I will say this. I was killing that course, k-rails or not. I do hope that it was not Glenn who suggested concrete cones for the clipping points, thatâ€™s just not cool in the least.

Yeah, Im upset, that car was all I had and now its destroyed because of a freak cone incident. What can you do? I am alive and I have my feet. The cage I built saved my life, thatâ€™s kinda cool. I will tell ya this, if I had an autopower, my feet would have been crushed.

All I can hope for is that my sacrifice was for the good of making the course safer in the future. This is not saying the course was willingly unsafe, I am saying that maybe we learned a little about k-rail and cones. The wrong cones or the wrong k-rail, hit the right way can be extremely unsafe for the driver.

it is good to see you are doing well. watching the acicedent from behind i was not sure what happen. seeing the pics now i can see the cone what like tray sliding you on one wheel. something i could never see happing. let me know what you need help with to get a new car together. and i will do what i can.

A time machine would be great. but I will settle for an s14 shell and alot of elbow grease.

man dennis im glad your ok, i have to say that is 10x's more horriffic then any crash ive ever been in (totals up to 4). im just glad you could walk away from it without injury. if i hear of a s14 shell up here ill make sure to pass word along
