would you consider $7,500 a fair price for my car?

Post by Rhoad Racing »

at FOERST, I was only going to ask $6K for it. But after going on autotrader I saw that some of the zenkies with twice as many miles as my car were selling for well over $7K. And those weren't tuned or modified in any way. So I'm thiniking (hoping) I could probably ask $7,800 and take no less than $7K. Granted, my 14 isn't much to look at, but with only 50K miles on the motor, I'd say it's worth it.

You guys know the car pretty well. What do you think? Am I over shooting the value or cutting myself short?

never seen your car up close and don't really remember you mods but from pix i would say 7.5 is a good deal. there are a ton of people out there who would pay that i'm sure. plus the 50K miles is a BIG help. as long as the body doesn't have tons of damage, frame straight, and interior clean for the most part thats all that matters. good luck! are you gunna get Kouki? if so is it gunna be chocolate chip? sugar? macadamia nut

Why do you want to sell it all of a sudden?

the body of the car is OK. It has basketball sized dent in the driver-side rear quarter panel (from previous owner), front bumper needs to be repainted (will do soon), and the driver side door is faded slightly. As for the interior (black leather)...other than a seam tear in the driver and rear seat, it is good shape.
I plan on taking detailed pics of all of the above.

Quarter panel can be fixed, bu,ber will be replaced eventually when you buy a body kit as well as painting the car and seats will be upgraded! Also think about if or when the porsche breaks down, will parts be easier to get ahold of than an SR or KA?

true...all those problems can be fixed and/or replaced. And I realize that selling a 50K mile nissan for a 100K mile Porsche isn't exactly the safest of decisions. But if I find the right one, it'll be worth it IMO. Besides, the 944 will be worth atleast $6K, so I could always sell it and go with a SR powered s13.
Also, I probably be getting a another daily driver (not the Outstanding Honda!)......a EG6 or something cheap.

Hondas Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's your call man, I'd just stick with the 14, fix her up nice and drop an SR in there when you get the extra cash. But if a porsche is your dream, then stick with it.

buahaha....would you believe the Outstanding is still sitting the QT parking lot where it died over a month ago!? LOL.

I'd love to fix up the 14. I have/had great plans for her. But I'm ready to break away from the mainstream, which 240s are rapidly becoming.

I think that you fell for the post that someone wrote the other day. Dude, its how you fix it up and make it unique. Shit there are all cars everywhere. It's just if you go to certain events, the popular car for that event will of course be there. And remember, hondas will always be the king of everyday cars. Hahaha

good points and I DO agree with you. But here's my thing......with ever car I ever owned and tuned, I've done it half assed. I was never able to complete my plans for the car (as most people don't). So, if I get a car that already has good power, great handling and looks even better (better than the 14 IMO), then there will be that much less for me to do. Basically, I'll never get around to doing what I want to with the 14. And if I do, it will look just like everyone elses. Just seems kinda pointless to me.
Granted, similarity btw Porsches will probably happen too, but not nearly as much. Other than Ian, we don't know of anyone that drives a 944.
Basically, I'm bored with being part of the automotive masses.

I know this is somewhat of a contradition, but if I AM to get the 944, the only things I will pay attention to is the suspension and very mild engine mods (exhaust, chip, intake). The Porsche engine is too maticulous to do anything to.

OK, I tried, but it didn't work. I see your hooked on the porsche. I've always liked porsches, but there not my thing right now. There your thing, so go for it. But how about this, if you don't sell the 14 within a given time period, you have to keep it and turn it into a super drift machine. And if you sell it, you won't have the 14 couple with Cody anymore. I think he will be sad about that. Your going to break up a happy 14 marriage. Hahaha

That's pretty cool, but there's only one thing wrong with it. That sign has a porsche symbol on it.
