A lot of people seek creative education/jobs because they think its an easy way out. Not saying that is you at all... but the creative avenue is far from easy, and borderline cut-throat. If it is something you love... go for it. If not, you will end up hating it more than a business job.

When I was a kid, I used to watch commercials, and then play with my toys until the commercials came on again. I always knew I wanted to work in "advertising". When I was in 9th grade, I asked for the Corel suite for Christmas. I didn't know how to use any of the software, but I knew that was what I needed. I basically taught myself through trial-and-error until I got into art school, and the rest is history.

But you really have to love it and be into it to excel. You always have to learn new techniques and workflows based off other techniques and workflows you may have learned 5 years ago. It's always a learning process... so if it isn't something you're totally passionate about, there is a glass ceiling to where you can go with it.

If you are not obsessed with it, don't do it. Its hard and frustrating.

Plus you won't make much money unless you bust your ass.

Yeah, thanks for the kind words, I was thinking about getting into Film like I had always wanted to in highschool. Unfortunately our Film Class was a joke and I didn't learn anything I didn't already know. Pinnacle studio and Windows Movie Maker  I had to give it up because of my high school GPA and went into my second choice, business. I plan on getting my associates and going to Mercer to get my Bachelors in Applied Technology of Business, which to me doesn't mean anything. The more business classes I take, the less I care about my degree, and the more it makes me want to say fuck it and try and get into GA State's film program. So Im stuck between living poor for the next 3.5 years and risking film, or living a somewhat decent life for the next 3.5 years and take the safe route of business. Ill find out soon enough :D Thank guys

If you want to go to school for film... go to a film school. Universities with "film" programs just aren't the same. It would be like saying I want to be an ASE certified mechanic, and taking some classes on oil changes and tuneup theory.
