spaced hoods???

Not really. It is a high pressure zone until you raise the hood. Then there is a small, low pressure spot between the gap of the hood and the windshield.
Look at it like this. If there is high pressure, you are forcing the hot air to stay in the engine bay. With low pressure, heat is encouraged to evacuate through the opening.
Take a look at the R34 Z-Tune's hood. The louvered vent creates a low pressure zone. Glad to know my lessons in flow dynamics weren't completely wasted.
As for the drift button, Cankles should handle that, he knows his shit, haha.

Haha, no. YOU don't get it.P.Haire wrote: dude are you retarded? i mean honestly, dumbest stuff i've read on the internet in awhile. way to not get it.
Let me put it in to terms that you can understand better.
If you hold a plastic bag over someones mouth, they can't breath. The plastic bag represents the high pressure of the airflow over the hood, the mouth represents an engine bay. Now, lift the bag a bit off of dude's mouth, he can breathe.
Basically, by redirecting airflow further up the windshield, there is a stagnation behind the hood.
It's a lot like the vents on the Cessna 182 me and my dad used to fly. They were designed to evacuate large air. Spacing the hood does the same.
There you go P. Haire
Shawn shawn, those graphs are fucking amazing.

I do. I just suck at explaining.

This diagram illustrates the vacuum created when there is a gap in air flow. As the ball moves through the air a partial vacuum is created behind the ball. As a result, pressure is greater at the front, and continues until it passes the object. Now apply this to a vent in the hood where there is a ridge. As air flow hits the ridge, a higher pressure is created, transferring over the vent until it reaches the windshield. This creates a vacuum, pulling air out of the vent.
But whatever. You win this round Trebek.

If I am still "getting it wrong". Then explain so I can learn. [/img]
