We're back from GT Live!
Wow. Wow, wow, wow, WOW.
To say this past weekend was the most amazing motorsport event we've been to would be the most dramatic understatement to date. This event was beyond insane! I still feel like I'm in shock due to a sensory overload of the world's top GT/D1 cars/drivers in such abundance.
JGTC... dick. dick, dick, dick! The power to weight ratio is so amazing! You could sit on the tarmac, and feel the vibrations from the cars ride up into your body from the concrete. It was spectacular! Those cars are so squatty and fast. Hearing them all fire up and head off the grid was amazing!
D1GP... shxxxt. Shxxxt, shxxxt, SHXXXXXXT!!! I have never seen entry speeds like these guys were running. Consistent 90+ mph entries into the FOERST corner... with some Japanese drivers clocked over 100 mph! They look fast in Option videos... but in real life... it's simply spectacular! I did my best to shoot as much footage as possible... but sometimes couldn't help but stop and watch with my jaw to the floor, drooling.
We met soo many amazing new people this weekend. We were back to back with the worlds best drivers from both JGTC & D1GP. I never would have thought the event would be so incredible. The weekend was nothing short of perfect.
To top things off, we held a single-car "Rental Drift Exhibition" outside the hotel, resulting in a delaminated tyre... one curb hopped, and some rad video to boot.
I'll post more details about this incredibly amazing weekend shortly... I'm off to unpack & scope some of the footage. I wish you all could have been there with us. The media we walked away with is breathtaking to say the least. We'll be bringing it right to you as soon as we can!

yup, this was by far one of the most amazing weekends i've ever experienced. we saw so much incredible action and i'm still trying to absorb all of it in and realize that we weren't inside a movie or gran turismo
. and yes, the rental car drift/rally exhibition was also top notch, and the videos should speak for themselves on that. i'll probably ramble about this a little more later but now i've gotta start unpacking and sorting through the 1000+ pics that i took.

There is a heaven, and we have been there. Next year there will be no excuses for the rest of you, none. This was the coolest thing I have ever seen. Andy's crown victoria annihilation, Mike chasing Amemiya-san like a stalker, Tyler getting the autograph of pretty much every driver there and then some, Cody taking pictures of everything that moved and more of things that didn't(especially if it said silvia anywhere on it!), my goofy ass running around kissing a car(RE Amemiya GT300 RX-7, mmmmm sexy), and all five of us loving every single minute of it. It was truly a perfect weekend. And I want to GO BACK!!! I'm going to go cry now.
Beans and cornbread.

no wait i am still dreaming, well having flashbacks of the weekend. it is not over yet! i made it through one tape, now on to the next. once i get my mac up and running again, some editing i will do.
honestly though i dont think i will ever be that amazed by anything again. there could be an event that is more visually beautiful (full mountain range surrounded the California Speedway), stinkingly wonderful (tires/race gas), and displace my organs even more.............but i doubt it. well if i went to Japan and went city drifting in Kazamaa's Silvia that might top it. or if we pulled a time rewind and the whole DM crew went, with our cars as a club (clubs got to run laps before the JGTC race). yeah that would top it.
of course my feet might not ever feel the same again.
thanks again guys for letting jump onboard at the last minute, cody for taking the floor, chris for being my cig buddy, mike for......no you snore too loud.....j/k, for runnin around helping me find D1 drivers, and remebering which ones i had gotten a sig from and which ones i still needed to find, and remembering their names. and andy thanks for one hell of a trip/adventure/vacation/mangimangimania/rental drfting........thanks guys.

OK, you guys summed it up pretty good, so I'll keep mine simple and thank Andy for the kick ass passes and everyone else for putting up with my snoring, which if I remember clearly the last night when I didn't sleep, I heard plenty of it going on Cody, Chris and Tyler.......hahahaha. I had a blast and laughed a lot. Without you guys there it wouldn't have happened. Other than my feet killing me, that is a weekend that I will never forget! Can't wait for it next year and plenty more in between.
yEAH IT WAS KICK ASS
I saw the GT race on Sat all the drifting except the XDL stuff, I was busy all weekend... i think the hardest job was driving the models back to the hotel
I been so busy lately...... i need a new shirt, my GF wore in a hot tub so it faded in spots
is there a way to buy one?...... It is in the top 3 shirts to wear list
