Man.. in HS.. my gf had a Volvo P1600E. It was her 1st car.. but it was more like.. her dad's project car that he had to 'get rid of' when she started driving so they wouldn't have too many cars.
She ended up driving it during the week and it was her Dad's toy on the weekends.

Similar to one of my favorite Zs.
But the owner of that is in the same boat. He never takes it out on/in rain, grass, or dirt roads. It's got about 2.6k miles on the clock, he bought it brand new in '06, and has babied it for the past 3 years, still is.
