the only job i ever honestly enjoyed

Post by icantdrift »

a long time back i worked at a shop called Black Forest next to road atlanta. it didn't pay much, but i'll be damned if i didn't enjoy every minute of working there. i got to play with cool toys all the time such as these:

my favorite car there, a nice dark blue 993 with BBS wheels and few other small modifications... she was one sexy beast

the white porsche is a factory built 993 racer, driven by a gentleman named Justin Jackson. if you've kept up with the Speed GT championships over the past few years you've probably heard of him at some point. nice guy and a good driver. the red car was a street/track car for a regular customer, another 993.

and my two favorite racecars we had up there, F355 Challenge cars. the red one was owned by the same guy with my favorite 993 :D. VERY fun to drive, got to take the yellow one for a shakedown right around the corner in the empty business park behind the BBS building.

man do i miss it

I went down there the other day to look at the Year One lot as a possibility for an event lot just to see how big it was, and on my way home they where having a porsche track day so I pulled into the driveway where I think that place is. Did they change the name of it? I don't remember the names of the places that where in the complex, but was it one of the very last shops in the strip?

it was at the very end of the building toward turn 1 on the track... or the farthest from the street. and they went out of business so there's someone else in there now.

Yeah, there was some porsche shop on one of the last 2 ones, may have been the last one. I didn't remember seeing that name so I was just wondering. There's also a lambo and exotic cars place at the front. When I drove in, they had the ducati trailer for bostrom at one of this shops I believe.
