Cool Cat Racing wrote:All right. I'm not going to read the last 9 pages right now but I might in a minute since all of it is nothing more than hearsay and after what I found out today isn't the real problem. I will open by saying that the activities of the night before really had little to do with the result of the track no longer allowing drifting. I'll get back to that point in a minute. I'm also going to try to not sound like a dick in this post even though I truly am not happy right now. The pre-event activities didn't have much to do with the outcome so lets stop pointing fingers and calling out people, it doesn't matter. For the record I agree with Tyler turning the lights on. He could have walked around to everyone and told them to stop, what would that have done? If they're dumb enough to drift in the dark like that they would have done it anyways or just waited till he left. You cant cure stupid but you can give them helmets. By turning the lights on at least he made it safer for the idiots even after he left. The golf car shennanigans had some to do with the banning because Marvin saw a group riding it in the field with someone standing on it and of course he didn't like that.
The problem that caused the banning comes from the people who took advantage of his offering of drinks and candy in the concession stand on the honor system. He put out about $35 worth of stuff for everyone and came back to $9 and an empty rack. This was a minor problem but added to the main issue. The bulk of the reason for the ban came from the group that let themselves into the VIP area above the grandstands. Marvin said this area was locked and everything was turned off saturday when they left. He came back the following weekend to find the AC cranked all the way up and all the lights still on. I know there was a group that was up there during the event and I'm talking about you. While there someone also stole the announcers radio headset out of the VIP room. It is this that caused Marvin to be fed up and cancel any future drift events. It was that group that caused the practice this weekend to be canceled. Possibly everyone from this group will man up and admit to what they did and everyone can know who really killed this venue.
Next I really have a problem with everyone who has said "I can't take responsibility for what so and so did." Look folks, man up and realize that if you knew what was happening you are partly responsible. When I rented the track I took FULL responsibilty for every person there and there actions while there. I'm the one looking like a dick to Marvin because of things that happened both while I was asleep the night before and while I was taking time out of my schedule to run an event so everyone could get some legal seat time. And before everyone jumps up and tries to exonerate themselves, I don't care what you say. I am going to believe the guy nice enough to rent us the track and who has always been honest and upfront with me over the last few years over a person blamed for ruining my reputation and ruining access to the track. All events there are until further notice canceled. He will never ask me for the money for what was stolen/damaged over the weekend but I voluntarily sent him $300 today from my pocket to cover the stupidity of a small group. I don't care if this gets me the track back but I'm not going to let him suffer because of my responsibilty. If anyone else wants to throw in on that I would appreciate it because I could care less if we have another drift event there but I'm going to make sure Marvin is covered either way. I want to keep the track open so everyone can get legal seat time but I personally don't drift so its not a big loss to me personally if we don't. I hope this helps to clear up the he said she said BS that has been thrown around so much in this thread. So Chris, you now know the group that actually cost you your practice and I can tell you 100% that the issues that weighed so heavily with Marvin, Tyler wasn't even there for. Hopefully those who are responsible will admit it and you can start pointing the finger at someone who earned it.

Cordele bans drifting
Theres a 15 page thread on 240fail but it all basically boils down to the post from Ryan at CCR that put on the F.A.T. Drift event at Watermelon a couple weeks back. Bottom line we lost a venue.
