So I have this on going problem with my lenovo laptop I'll restore it and within a month will pretty much lock itself up saying I have been infected with a trojan and trys to get me to buy this program called internet security 2010.
Its mad annoying does anyone have any input and know where I could get some anti virus software that takes care of everything fo free.
Panda and Avast are some other free alternates that people seem to favor. I found them when researching for a friend, but I haven't used any so I can't really speak to them personally.
I use avast, as does everyone else in my family, and it's not failed me yet. It catches stuff fairly regularly and deletes on your request. I do hate the little update pop-up window I get every damn time I turn on my computer and it's got internet though. I'm going to look into turning that notification off come to think of it.. haha

Internet Security 2010 is a malware/trojan thingy.. it's a pain to get rid of and it's more than likely to be coming from one of the sites that you are surfing to. stuff will try to remove it.. but it just comes back.
most of the programs will not find it or clean it completely. the best thing to do is to located all the instances of this malware on your computer. it has several names that it hides itself as executable (.exe) files on the laptop.. you have to delete those instances, delete the registry keys and then run the anti-spyware programs to clean the rest. there are good tutorials on this process on the internet.. but you can't really surf the web on your laptop when this shit keeps happening.. popping up.. and redirecting you as soon as you search on anything that tries to get rid of it.
this one is kind of a tough one.. i did all that stuff and then ran malwarebytes, spybot s&d, and another one before i removed all signs of it.
Greggorz if you go to Program settings (right click the tray icon) and go to the sounds tab you can turn off all the sounds you don't want the program to make, or just all of them if you want.
