Custom FMIC or Brand Name FMIC kit?
well i'm thinking well into the future like after the motor is rebuild and i'm definately gonna get a FMIC. the only thing is should i spend the $950 on the Greddy Kit or get a core from somewhere like Spearco and make my own piping?
either way will be good IMO and they should both work about the same. only differance is that i could get the custom one done a ton cheaper then any brand name kit. what do you all think would be good and what would you do?

it's going to end up costing you close to the same thing if you get a good IC. Figure a few hundred for the piping fabrication and finishing. Plus there's the ease of just bolting a complete kit on vs. having to leave your car at a shop for a week or so while the piping is jigged, fabbed and finished.
actually i am going to do all the piping myself. i would just buy mandrel bent U-joints and cut them where i need em then use silicone cuplers to connect it all together. i would ofcourse have an exhaust shop put beads around the end of the pipes to keep em from blowing off.

seems like that would make for alot of joints, to be able to get from the turbo to the intercooler and back to the manifold. id personally prefer pipes that are already bent to run where they are supposed to. in any case, hit me up if you want a good price on the GReddy FMIC.

I always vote for make it yourself, but xonn is right it will probably cost about the same either way you go. Since you seem to have you mind made up already though, you could try Greddy's universal piping kit:

Thats the 50mm set, they also make a 60mm set. I dont know if that would work for an FC, but just somthing to think about.

they're one of the super high end JDM brands, but they aren't extremely well known in the US yet. lots of the big name tuners in japan use their stuff though, but it is about the most expensive stuff you can get.
they do make on for an RX7 though, but it's only for FD's as far as i know (http://www.rxecret7.com/rotorworks/arcm ... ooler.html)

This is the one I'm getting!
Why not just go for this one? I've just ordered mine. It's much cheaper. Only $249.99 for all the visual horsepower you need!
