FIA Homologated Seat Expiration

Post by andysapp »

Does anyone know when FIA homologated seats expire for competition use? All I can seem to find anywhere is how long the harnesses are good for, which is apparently December 31st, 2 years after manufacture date.

I am trying to figure out if I need to order a seat or not.
Hollers.

You need a harness. You don't need a seat.

Question(s):

Did they require a physical from you?
Did you have to pay the bond?

oh i am not sure if you saw andy but you do need to put a master cut off switch that will kill the engine on the out side of the car. it says that would like to have it on the right side hear the windscreen.

How long are seats good for? I swear I can't find it anywhere. My seat was manufactured in Dec 04.

According to the harness rule, mine is still good - although... I ordered a new one anyway. The production date on it was Jan 05, so it expires Dec 07.

I was reading over the rules earlier. Looks like I need x-bars on both sides, and that cut-off switch.

It does... that's how I know it was made in Dec 04... it doesn't say how long it is good for, though... unless I am totally missing it.
