Running Open-Cat...
Is running open-cat on an N/A KA24DE bad??? I had some kid at NTB tell me that it was...but I've never trusted anyone at NTB about anything other than tires. If it's bad, why?
Thanks!

It's not a permanent thing. I just lost both bolts between the cat and intermediate pipe while drifting over the last 2 weeks and decided to pull it for the time being. I've considered bolting a 1-in-2-out turbo muffler to the cat and running pipes out right before the rear wheels with those rectangle tips. I can't decide if that'd be rice or not...

why not just get an ebay full exhaust for it? i'd bet they are cheaper than building your own.collink wrote:It's not a permanent thing. There's one that a BUNCH of my S13 buddies use...and I like the way it sounds that was like $175 shipped...but I kinda like the uniqueness of my idea. I don't know what I'm going to do. If I do a full exhaust, I'd like an aggressive angle mounting for the actual tip...which no eBay exhaust I've ever seen provides.icantdrift wrote:why not just get an ebay full exhaust for it? i'd bet they are cheaper than building your own.collink wrote:It's not a permanent thing. I know you guys mentioned slight power loss in 1st and 2nd...but it seems like it's got MOAR power than when it had the cat-back on. I did a little sliding on the way to work this morning, and normally, I have a bit of a problem doing anything below 30 on my 17s (I think/HOPE it's because I HELLA need a new clutch), but today, it wasn't as bad as usual...
