Atten: People with SR20 part conections

out of all the boards i go on, I only heard one really bad review on them and the guy was using the FOERST design that was basicly a OBX manifold with like 2.0mm size... he should have had the knowledge to ask people FOERST haha... this was a big fight about this on FA, but lot of people got the new design and some even took the manifold to a pro welder and said the welds are really good... sure its not HKS, but even every once and while their product cracks. Sure you get what you pay for, but I haven' heard a bad review on their new stuff.

Hey, I'm just a noob haha, but...

Do you even really need it? It something wrong with your stock one? Even so, I think that money could be spent more safely and productively elsewhere... $200 is a good chunck of mod change. If your stock one is broken, that's a diff. story, might as well give it a shot. Even a stock mani. will run you prolly $100.

nope, but like I said am still debating if I should buy it or not... Since am changing out my turbo anways it be a less pain in the ass to replace the manifold now then after when I swap out my turbo... but again am still debating... if not then i'll jsut paint my manifold black or something =D

i ran an SS Auto manifold on my car with no problems at all for around 7k miles. the trick is to use the supplied brace between the head flange and the turbo flange. if you leave that out or loose the thing will almost always crack. all of the ones i've seen that had the brace (at least newer ones) haven't had any issues. for extra breathing room i also cut the head flange between the #2 and #3 runners so the flange had room to expand and contract without breaking the runners off.

i have a newer style ss autochrome with the brace and it has been on the car since february. no problems at all!

it even has a HEAVY GT25R hanging on it

i bought it back in february for $160 shipped or something off ebay

umm the brace goes on the flange. it comes with instructions. i have pix somewhere it looks just like every other one

hey guys, I just got my Exhaust Manifold on Wednesday. Today I pull off my old manifold, turbo, and Elbow. I was wondering if the two guys that posted that have the autochrome manifold could see if the welds on my manifold look good or not. Of course i'll post pictures, but anything I should notice and look out for? Thanks guys. Pics coming up shortly

the welds aren't usually where i've seen them crack, most i've seen crack crack either on the runners or at the turbo flange. i wouldn't sweat it at all, SSAuto even gives a warranty against cracking. throw that thing on there.

i'll probably get another if i upgrade the turbo anytime soon. i sold my old one so i'm back to stock at the moment.
