Today was an awesome event. Congrats to everyone working hard to keep the event going.

Early Day News:
Ed Johnson wrecked the R33. Rear end damage, backed into K-rail.
Sonny Morejohn backed into the krail hard. Unable to continue due to damaging his gas tank.
Jon Rusakoff hit the wall and left some love on the wall.
A few other guys hit, nothing to major.

Top 16:
I don't have a solid list.
Justin Pawlak qualified 1st.

Alternates for top 16 were :
Nick Hogan
Aaron Losey
Casey Quillen
Lindsay (PG)

Top 16 Action:
Ameen Rizvi and Jon Rusakott were running tandem. On the 2nd run Jon was leading and running turn 1 hard. He pushed a tad to far and tapped the rear of the car onto the krail and just drove up it landing on his side.

-Top 8: Lance Feliciano Vs. Ameen Rizvi. They both ran and pushed each other hard. Lance ended up taking top honors in this bout.

-Chris Mendoza Vs. Doug Van Den Brink. Doug looked real strong in the Stang but Chris took a fairly easy win.

-Justin P. and David P. advanced.

Top 4: Lance F. Vs. Justin P.
This was nuts. Formula D worthy tandem action!!!!!!! They did one more time. Lance ended up getting a victory and moved to finals.

David Padron Vs. Chris Mendoza
Chris snapped a power steering pump and David ended up moving to the finals.

Finals: David P. and Lance F.
David ended up taking a win.

Got issued a License
David P.
Lance F.
Justin P.

david placed 1st on saturday which awarded hom a licence, so he didn't have to compete on sunday. b/c he and the other podium drivers from saturday didn't drive it gave the rest of the amatuers the chance to get a licences on sunday. so in a way there were two comps. david one the FOERST one and doug won the second one which as against 0 point formula d drivers.

and for what its worth... nick hogan impressed a lot of people this weekend. his driving has improved greatly.
