US DRIFT Nationals - August 28th - Charlotte, NC

Post by jo »

It's at the Lowe's Motor Speedway on August 28th. I think it's $125 to compete in the contest, and $15 bucks for admission [this fee schedule is from another one of their events so it could be totally wrong!]

Who wants to go?:) Charlotte isn't that far is it?

Well mine is slow compared to my friends car, he is more like 400whp, and I'm 230whp. It also has ground control coil-overs and camber caster plates, and much more.

you should go, seat time is seat time. Even if you don't do that good.

I'm game... 100%!

Charlotte is about 5 hours from downtowne Atlanta.
It's not a bad drive at all.

I actually drove to Charlotte once, to pick up a friend who got a ride there from NY... only to snag him, and head right back to Atlanta.

AssDriftNation here we come!!!

Ok, this event is the weekend after Hot Import Nights [another post on this to follow]. Please, in the next few days check on your availability and work schedule to see if you can go. I'm thinking if we left Friday afternoon, preferably before rush hour traffic around 3 [I mean *really* leaving at 3 and not organizing to go then;] then we could be up there and in the hotel by 10 and sleep before the event.

When I come back into town next Wednesday, I am going to make hotel reservations for Charlotte. We obviously will save $$$ if we room together, so if everyone can figure out if they can go by then I'll be able to arrange rooms. Also, we need an idea of whose going so we can arrange competitor/media/entry passes. So, if you're coming-- let me know!

Andy, Charlotte shouldn't be more than 5 hrs. from ATL and that's with traffic. I'm about halfway between Charlotte and Atlanta on 85 and it's about 2 hrs to both. So I will probably drive up that Sat. but I'll be on hand to help out, and my fiancee too.

Haha... yeah I think you're right.
It's been a minute since I've driven that run... but I think I remember making it in 4 hours. I don't think I've been to Charlotte since back when I was still in college. (oooh... did I just say that? I feel old now). Haha.

It'd be great if you and your fiance can make it out! It's gonna be a good time for sure!!!
