WTF Pittsburgh?!?

This is where my car went wrong in PA. I don't think pressure plates like being forced into 1st to make tight hairpin turns. The throwout bearing was fried as well.

The good news is the clutch disc itself isn't in bad shape. I have two other e34 M5 pressure plates in storage, so one of those combined with the used clutch disc that came out of the car yesterday will be my spare clutch assembly! :D No more scrambling to find a clutch in cities that don't understand the meaning of "open on Saturday", lol.

I dont think BMW ever intended their psi plates to be clutch kicked. You might also wanna start replacing throwout bearings more often. I consider it a preventive destruction item.

Good point! Those plates have held up well... I'm surprised this is the 1st one I've had damaged like this.
