Re: I want this to get through the winter
I'm interested to see how Forza 3 comes out.
Re: I want this to get through the winter
It will not have an awesome steering wheel and will therefore be fundamentally flawed.collink wrote:I'm interested to see how Forza 3 comes out.

Re: I want this to get through the winter
actually, it will.foilman wrote:It will not have an awesome steering wheel and will therefore be fundamentally flawed.collink wrote:I'm interested to see how Forza 3 comes out.
the Fanatec GT3 controller will work for PC/PS3/360
and it's better than that Logitech one. IIRC it's got a gated shifter...
Re: I want this to get through the winter
Well that's promissing. But I think it's premature to call it better. The Logitech GT25 and 27 both have gated shifters and the 25 can be set sequential mode as well.collink wrote: actually, it will.

Re: I want this to get through the winter
can i get this for my sega game gear?
Re: I want this to get through the winter
damn i need to get a steering wheel for my ps3.
nfs: shift is kind of painful to play sometimes. i'm not sure what the developers where thinking in making your car hop all over the place when you turn too hard or even slightly step off track, it's like every car in the game has incredibly bad axle hop
however, the drifting is at least fun once you get used to it, and you can make pretty sexy cars.
for drifting, i think grid is the most fun, but maybe too easy? (i dunno, everytime i see people play online, doesn't look easy for them, lol), and definitely has the best scoring system. gran turismo's controls are great, but the scoring system is absolutely terrible, this was made by japanese dudes, right? i mean, not that every japanese person has a full understanding of drifting, they don't, it's no more common knowledge than in the states, but they have every resource in the world to come up with a good scoring system. nfs: shift has a steep learning curve to get sliding well, it's like the game is overly touchy, but luckily you can adjust pretty much everything to your liking. i haven't taken the time to get good at forza due to some of the good players looking like they have to take it really easy to keep the cars under control, that seems kind of weak. maybe i've just watched the wrong people.
my biggest gripe on car games in general is soundtrack selection. need for speed games have almost all terrible club tracks, i feel like i'm gonna shit sparkly kittens after i play those games. and gran turismo is just all over the place, and sometimes really weird. i play grid with no sounds besides the cars, so it's awesome
